Fender G-DECŪ
The G-DEC (Guitar Digital Entertainment Center), a unique and fun practice amp/songwriting tool ideal for beginners and experienced musicians alike, boasts more features than most full-size amps, all in one small, easily portable package. You get digital recreations of 17 classic amp types, 29 effects, 10 reverbs, a tuner and many more parameters great for designing and saving your own sounds (or just choose from the 50 cool presets).
The 15-watt G-DEC has as much digital power as our Cyber-Series amps, so practice along with onboard MIDI drum loops and bass lines in many styles and speeds, create your own guitar loops with the Internal Phrase Sampler, stream MIDI files from your PC and use the auxiliary input and filters to zero in on different instruments in any song from your mp3 or CD player. It's a blast!
Fender B-DEC 30 Review:
Features : 10
This amp was introduced in 2006. Even though they just introduced this amp, Fender worked out the kinks and setbacks of the guitar version with the release of the B-Dec 30. I play mostly blues and old school (70's) rock. The amp effects choices allow you to create almost any sound you want. There are two channels but one must be reached from the back (they call it a teacher input). It does also have a headphone jack. This is definitely uner powered to gig with, but that is not its purpose. It has more than enough power to use for personal practice and timing work.
Sound Quality : 10
I use this with an american jazz and an american precision. I also occasionally plug in my acoustic/electric GB41. On the Bassman setting it has great blues tone and the bass peg (ampeg simulation) sounds great for 70's rock. There is little or no distortion at higher levels but I have not really pushed it - it is used for practice in the basement (when it gets too loud the main distortion is my wife's voice!).
Reliability : No Opinion
Only a month old, hard to say.
Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing on and off for about 15 years. I also own an Ampeg B100R. This is a wonderful solution to wanting to spice up your personal practice time. It is also fun on nights when you want to play and can not round anyone else up to jam with. I also love how light and portable it is. I supervise the guitar and bass club at the High School where I teach and it is very easy to bring in for the weekly meetings. If it were lost or stolen I would be very upset and buy a new one.
Fender Bassman Combo Review:
Features : 10
It is 2006 model!
I have the amp for 4 days now!! WOW!!!
I play very difrent styles of music from clasical, jazz, blues, FUNK, electronica of all kinds!!
It is one chanel combo wit a eminence 12' bass driver and a tweter. it has a switch for active/pasive with -6db on the active. then there is a compresor with fixed treshold, adjustable ratio that is very efective in evening out the levels if the efect is desierd. Then comes the contur knob for more or less of a scooped sound. The EQ is 4band. bass, low mid and hi mid with level and freq controls, treble. You have a line level knob for the DI output next to it. it has a vol and master knob. Preamp sinal and clip leds, power amp clip led, mute switch with led. It has a efx loop, tuner out, AUX in. the power section is 150w rms of bass into 4ohm to the speakers. the design of the combo is tiltable so it functions as a monitor. the best thing is the switchable horn with on/off/-6db positions!!
Sound Quality : 10
the sound blows me away! I have tryed other brands like GK, SWR, VOX, AMPEG, EDEN, Hartke with similar one 12' combo and minimal 100w power set.
This one is special. I was very sceptical with this Fender at first. The decision for this investment was to protect my beautyful old FBT upright combo amp with 13.5' speaker and dated in 60'. So I was very demanding on how it is going to sound amd perform cuz my FBT is unique!!
I use a lot of efx and it can handle very heavy presure levels of noise and chaos!! It can sound as you want it to from, bassy and dark souds of R&B, ragge, JAZZ to hard grinding and beautiful FUNKy madness from thumb, finger to slap and pick. I was impresed. The best thing is that i can shut tha fucking tweter up. Yeas it has a horn regulator. I dont like that raspy edge of tweters!!
the bass is always full and i don't need to bosst or adjust any controls. I leave everything flat!! The EQ is very flexible but it sounds amazing when it is flat so i leave it alone most of the time.
the power of this small box blew me away!!! it handels most of todays music situations except large stadium or arena gigs!!
Reliability : 5
don't know jet!! I will tell you in september!! If this fender turns out OK I will buy my self a nother one for stereo and more power!!!
Overall Rating : 9
It could be better if I had anyting to say about the design but it would cost a lot more then!!
But I am very happy!!
