SCHECTER GUITARS

Schecter Guitar Research, or commonly known as just Schecter, is an American guitar manufacturer. The company was founded in 1976 by David Schecter and originally only produced replacement parts for existing guitars from manufacturers such as Fender and Gibson. Today, the company mass-produces its own line of electric guitars, bass guitars, and steel-string acoustic guitars.
In 1979, Schecter offered for the first time its own fully-assembled electric guitars. These guitars were custom shop models based on Fender designs. They were of very high quality, very expensive, and were sold only by twenty retailers across the United States.
By 1983, Schecter had reached its custom shop production limit and could no longer meet demand. That year, Schecter was purchased by a group of Texan investors who sought to profit from the reputation of the Schecter name. The investors moved the company to Dallas, Texas, but most of the original Schecter employees didn't make the move from California to Texas. This resulted in poor design ideas and products during the ownership by the Texan investors. The Texan owners would mass-produce guitars under the Schecter name for less than five years.
In 1987, the Texan investors sold the company to Hisatake Shibuya, a Japanese entrepreneur who also owned the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and ESP Guitars (Schecter Guitar Research and ESP Guitars have remained to this day separate entities). Under the ownership of Hisatake Shibuya, the Schecter company was moved back to California and slowly began to rebuild its reputation. Hisatake Shibuya returned the company to its custom shop roots and devoted all its efforts to manufacturing high-end, expensive custom instruments.

Schecter C-1 Hellraiser Review:

Features : 10 Just got yesterday- 2008 Black Schecter C-1 Hellraiser with binding the whole way around body and head.String-thru body Tonepros- Comes with the new EMG81 t/w and EMG89 t/w (Coil-Tap). Grover tuners-hasn't gone out of tune once!!!!. 2 volume/1 tone. SUPER LIGHT! its like a feather. Everything is perfect. Get the rest on Schecter's site. Only thing i dont like is not getting a case with the purchase- kind of bs in my opinion
Sound : 9 First off I use a Mesa boogie dual rect. 3 channel. Which is amazing, i still have my gibson les paul classic which is pretty gainy itself. The schecter though it absolutely stunning. No matter how much gain i have when ringing chords out/palm muting you can hear EVERY note so well. When playing lead this guitar is soo clear real mid range style but everything cuts through beautifully. With the new pickups it does come with Coil-Tap, didnt think i'd be a fan but damn was i wrong. Sounds actually just like my strat, it makes such a difference being my amp isn't the clean in the first place. And no matter what harmonic u want to hit it comes through perfect. Got this to be my back up for my LP, doubt it. I'll probly have my les paul be my backup now and i paid 2k for it haha
Action, Fit, & Finish : 9 It came right out of the box still in tune just shows how good the grovers are. Action was a tide bit high for me so i had someone lower it. Definitely suggest you lower it alittle it makes all the difference. Pickups came at perfect height too, so i didnt have to dick with that. No buzz at all
Reliability/Durability : 9 Everything seems great, only thing that kind of worries me is the toggle switch, very flimsy soo i dont know if that will break in the future i hope not. other then that its wonderful for only having it one day haha
Overall Rating : 9 Overall- Get this guitar for 700 bucks, its great. Within a couple years you will see the prices of schecter sky rocket- Not one thing wrong with this guitar.

Schecter C-7 Diamond Series Review:

Features : 9 Ash body, maple neck w/ rosewood fretboard, tune-o-matic bridge, Grover tuners, 24 jumbo frets, black finish with natural binding on the body, Duncan Designed pickups. 7 string. Came with a Schecter Diamond Series gig bag which is very thickly padded and can take some abuse. The only thing I would ask for is Seymour Duncan pickups or EMG 707's. Other than that, this guitar is great.
Sound : 10 I play mostly metal, and this guitar is perfect for it. I use it with a Kustom KLA-20 and a Digitech RP80 which I want to sell and get a Line 6 live. The C-7 is quite clean and very crunchy with distortion. For a 7 string, the C-7 is very versatile, it comes from the Ash.
Action, Fit, & Finish : 8 I bought the guitar second-hand, so I thought it had very high action but I changed the strings and that problem was fixed (the strings were oxidized) the action was still a little high so I lowered it and set the intonation and everything was fine. No flaws with hardware. Would've prefered a deeper cutaway but it's cool.
Reliability/Durability : 10 This guitar will last a very long time. I would use it at gigs but I would need a backup, just in case, but then, who doesn't?
Overall Rating : 10 If this guitar were lost or stolen, I'd have to buy a different 7 string, as these are discontinued. Probably a Schecter C-7 Blackjack or Hellraiser.
